Isn't Suffolk simply amazing?

A great place to grow up, go to school, live, work and visit - simply amazing!

As a celebration of this fact, Stour Valley Photography's photographer, David has teamed up with Suffolk parents' magazine, Raring2Go, to produce a fun piece of art called...

A Portrait of Suffolk

A Portrait of Suffolk’ will celebrate the vibrant community that is made by the people who live in the area, together with the unique architecture and landscapes that make Suffolk such a great place to live.

David has captured and published plenty of images from around the county in the past - but to capture the community too - your community - we need your help!

Our aim is to produce a large piece of art depicting some of the area’s better known landmarks - and to present them in the form of a mosaic, where each ‘tile’ in the mosaic is the face of a Suffolk resident - and every one a Raring2Go reader!

To complete this project we need around 3000 photos of Raring2Go readers, their children and their friends...

What do we want?

We want your photo! The photos need to be fairly close-up portraits (see the example below) and photos taken on mobile phones or small digital cameras will be just fine, so there’s no excuse for not taking part!

Who do we want?

Maria Reilly - Raring2Go's Suffolk Editor

Anyone and everyone who has seen a copy of either Ipswich and Felixstowe or West Suffolk Raring2Go - and don’t forget, we need thousands of images for this project, so we’d love to see a photo of you, all of the members of your family and all of your friends...

When do we want them?

Now! Send us your photos as soon as you can so that we can start creating our magnificent mosaic right away!

Let us put you in the picture...

To take part in this unique project just email your photos - with your name and postcode to david@stourvalleyphotography.com

We won't give your details to anyone else and your photos will be used solely for the 'A Portrait of Suffolk' project.

When will you be able to see yourself in the finished mosaic?

With your help, ‘A Portrait of Suffolk’ will be finished for the grand unveiling which will take place at next year’s Suffolk Raring2Go Children’s Day at Trinity Park, Ipswich on 10th April 2011 - you’ll then be able to visit the mosaic to see yourself at a variety of locations to be announced at the Children’s Day.

Help us to get started!

Visit the Raring2Go Roadshow - 12-3pm - Saturday 13th March in Tower Ramparts, Ipswich - we’ll take your photo for you - and there’ll be face painting, Punch and Judy, entertainment, competitions and lots more - so come along, join the fun and help us make a start on this amazing project!
